They grow up so fast

Today as I was making bread...Yes I was making bread and it actually turned out this time I got my first 2 truly edible loafs. I guess the old saying; if at first you don't suceed try try again, is really true. Anyway as I was making bread I looked over and saw my sweet little Amanda trying to pick up her baby sister. I quickly ran to the rescue of Elizabeth and was told that she is my big girl and she can hold the baby. It struck me just how fast she really is growing up. Time goes so quickly, it seems that just yesterday I was taking care of her as a new baby. After I captured them on camera I decided that most of you have not seen the baby and she too is growing up fast. She smiles and laughed for the first time last week and both daddy and I were there to enjoy the experience. I am truly blessed to have such beautiful daughters and thank my Heavenly Father each day for the opportunity to be a mother.

Childlike Faith

A couple of weeks ago we were having FHE and had a lesson on sharing. For our link to the scriptures we told the story of the boy who shared his bread and fish and how with that Jesus was able to bless it and feed lots and lots of people. Then we showed a picture of a little girl on a bike and told them that her little sister wanted to ride it what should she do.....what would Jesus do? Katrina skipped right to what Jesus would do and said that he would bless the bike so that they could both have one. We got a good laugh out of that and then told her that Jesus would want her to share her bike. Anyway we thought it was cute and thought you would too.

Easter

This year the girls didn't get new dresses because they have too many hand me downs in their closets already. So I decided that this would be a great picture to share. We were just leaving to a Easter party where we had a barbeque and an easter egg hunt. The girls had a blast and came home with lots of good stuff, so much in fact that we reused it two days later in their baskets from the Easter bunny. I love being a mom of girls and dressing them up all the time!

Pi Day 3.14

Every year Steve celebrates national "Pie" day by letting his students come in for luch and have pie. He would eventually like to make it a school wide event where they have a 5K as well which is approximatly 3.14 miles. This year we made the effort to go and support him but would you believe it we were just 5 minutes late and all the pie had been consumed : )
Since all the pie was gone and the Teacher didn't even get any the girls and I went and picked up a fresh Strawberry pie and suprised dad later that night.

I'm so glad when daddy comes home.....or has a week off! Whenever dad walks through the door whether he is coming home from school, a church meeting or just waking up on a day off the girls think he is their personal jungle gym. They climb up and he plays all the dad games he or they can think of. He doesn't even have to have arms available for lifting and throwing for them to have a good time. As you can see in this picture dad was holding a fussy baby while mom made dinner and they still used him as a tunnel as they ran around and then through dads legs.

Dress Ups

We LOVE to pretend! One thing my girls are always doing is playing dress ups. This morning I got up at 6:30 and found these two in their princess dresses watching t.v.

Quiet Time

The other day I was just getting the baby to sleep when I noticed it was unusually quiet. I looked to my left and saw Amanda alseep in the baby swing.
I called out to Katrina and got no answer, I checked outside and couldn't find her. I finally found her in the toy room where she had been reading in her chair with her favorite blanket. (FYI she got this blanket from Grandma Lang and thinks it can replace her coat. Needless to say this goes with her everywhere when it is cold).

New Sheets

We have been having a hard time getting Amanda to sleep in her own bed so we resorted to bribery. Here she is with her new dora bedding. She was so excited that she put her jammies on in the middle of the day and climbed into bed. When she saw me get the camera she ran and got Katrinas and we were taking pictures of each other.

A New Swingset

Since we left our last swingset at the old house we have wanted a swingset so bad but we also wanted one that would last this time and so we waited and waited while we saved to finally get a new one. It arrived in several very large boxes and as Steve unloaded it I was overwhelmed by all the pieces, but that didn't seem to bother him. He managed to put it together in just 3 days working only the afternoons after he got home from school. He is so amazing! Ali was here at the time and she Katrina Amanda were so excited as they "helped" dad build the swing set. As each section was completed they played, they especially liked when the tower was complete and they played with the slide all day. Ali and Katrina were really good helping there little sister go down the slide and catching her so she didn't fall. It is starting to look like our own little park right in our back yard. I have loved having this just about as much as the girls as I love to watch them play and get some of the exercise they need to stay healthy.
